BAT” – BEST AVAILABLE TECHNOLOGY

EAPC’s environmental operations are based on BAT, and accordingly, the Company is committed to applying the best available technology in the area of soil contamination, air pollution, leaks, etc.

Air quality

EAPC is very strict about maintaining the air quality in its environs.
Based on all the frequent measurements conducted in the tanks, and the calculations made for control purposes, the concentration of benzene in the air is maintained at below the permissible limit specified in the standard.

Contribution of the community

Community relations constitute an integral part of Company policy, and symbolize its partnership with the community in which it operates. EAPC will continue to act and help in Eilat and Ashkelon as long as it operates within their boundaries.

The ecological beach

The strip of beach below the EAPC oil terminal in Eilat, between the Dolphin Reef Beach and the EAPC north jetty, is informally known as the “ecological beach”.

A spectacular coral reef has developed in the waters of the ecological beach over several decades. Because the port is closed to divers, many rare species of spectacular coral have developed on the reef, and rare fish have adopted the reef as their habitat.
The twenty meters of jetty columns at the port have developed into a unique habitat on which the coral thrive, attracting rare fish and creating a quiet, protected, unvisited ecological reserve.

Discussions are currently underway regarding the future of the 200 m long ecological beach.
